THE GREAT BEAR RAINFOREST

The Kermode bear (Ursus americanus kermodei) is one of the rarest bears in the world. Due to a unique recessive gene, this common black bear is showered with white or cream colored fur. An estimate of 400 to 1000 bears are living in a 400 kilometer rainforest corridor on Canada's west coast.

I spent time in one of the most amazing forests in the world, The Great Bear Rainforest, British Columbia. We were led by native guides into the inlets and streams where the Salmon run and the bears fish.

White Spirit bears, black bears, cubs, salmon, waterfalls, eagles, giant trees, moss and more. Magical energy flowed every day as we were in the company of a very special bear only meters away.
